Folios 75-82. To: The General Board of Health. From: James Richardson, Lord Mayor of York. Subject Matter: Letter enclosing a certificate showing cholera is present in York, [Yorkshire], and forwarding a copy of resolutions passed by a meeting of the medical profession of the city. He explains that the Public Health Act 1848 does not apply to York and so instructions must be taken from the General Board of Health via the Board of Guardians under the Nuisances Removal and Diseases Prevention Act 1848. |
