Folio 139-141 and 146-147. Petition for mercy of condemned [Jacobite] prisoner Alexander Mackenzie, in New Gaol, Southwark, late collector of rent, paid in black cattle, for the Earl of Cromertie. He resisted the efforts of Arloch and Cappock [?Macdonald of Keppoch] to press up to 50 of Cromartie's tenants into rebel service. Two copies. Filed with:

Folio 142-145. Affidavits of James Robertson, Minister of Lochbroom [Ross-shire], and John Campbell, Collector of Customs of Lochbroom. Mentions captains Cappock and Colin Roy [?Colin McKenzie of Ballone] recruiting at Kirktown of Lochbroom. Recalls McKenzie's role in detecting 'fraudulent fish debentures' valued at up to £40,000 in 1739, and other assistance to the Revenue.
