Administrative / biographical background: |
Under the Swaziland Order in Council of December 1963, responsibility for the administration of Swaziland passed from the High Commissioner to South Africa to the newly created post of Her Majesty's Commissioner in Swaziland. This arrangement continued until Swaziland attained independence as a Kingdom within the Commonwealth in September 1968. From this time the UK representative in Swaziland was designated High Commissioner. |
