Administrative / biographical background: |
The Establishment and Organisation Department handled all policy and casework on home and overseas complements for the Diplomatic Service, pay and allowances, gradings and conditions of service, Whitley council procedure, superannuation and office organisation and management generally. On the formation of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in October 1968, the Diplomatic Service Administration Office was abolished, and the functions of the Establishment and Organisation Department passed directly to the new Office. The work of the department passed to a Personnel Policy Department in 1969, with some elements of the work being done by the Personnel Services Department. |
