Administrative / biographical background: |
In January 1974, the Energy and Nationalised Industries Division (ENI) was transferred from the Department of Trade and Industry to the newly created Department of Energy changing its name to the Nationalised Industries Policy Division (NIP). In subsequent years, the division underwent a number of name changes including; Energy and Nationalised Industries Policy Division (1974); Corporate Planning and Finance Division (1975); Finance and Nationalised Industry Division (1977); and Energy Policy Division (1982). The division's primary function was to co-ordinate the various policy initiatives put forward by the government which affected the nationalised sector of the energy industry. |
