The Chemicals and Textiles Division (CT) originated in the Ministry of Technology and was transferred to the newly formed Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in October 1970. In 1974 the division was reorganised but with no change of overall responsibility. The division was extended to include other commodities on 1 June 1982 and was consequently renamed Chemicals, Textiles, Paper, Timber and miscellaneous manufacturers (CTP). On 1 November Services were added and it became (CTPS). In 1987 CTPS ceased to exist as new marketing divisions were formed as a part of reconstructing of DTI. |
