The Commonwealth Co-ordination Department was formed in 1968 in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to succeed the various Commonwealth Office departments which had handled general planning and co-ordination matters for the Commonwealth, principally the Commonwealth Policy and Planning Department and the General and Migration Department. |
