This series contains a collection of plans and drawings fully illustrating the physical arrangements, seating plans and temporary structures erected within Caernarfon Castle and its environments to celebrate the investiture of Prince Charles as Prince of Wales in 1969. The collection includes a full survey of the castle made prior to the start of the preparations.

Physical condition: Some plans have masking tape attached to the back.
Custodial history: Transferred to the Ancient Monuments Board for Wales at an unknown date and then transferred to Cadw in 1991. Records returned to the Welsh Office prior to accession.
Selection and destruction information: Complete set likely to be kept. It is believed that all the plans created survived. This shows the complete picture of all the works carried out.

Responsibility for functions carried out by the Ministry of Public Buildings and Works were passed to the Welsh Office during 1969.
