| Description: |
PSD registered files concern the timber, newsprint, pulp, glass, furniture and bedding, paper, board and cutlery industries. Most of the work carried out by the division concerned was of an advisory nature, and was often carried out in conjunction with DTI divisions and branches. The contents of the files reflect these responsibilities. Also included are files concerning import quotas for cutlery from the Far East, and EEC import quotas, and files concerning the development and membership of the Furniture Development Council. For a short period the division had some responsibilities for tourism and the series contains a few files relating to this function. |
