Folios 546-549. Workhouse Inspection Report Form from Harry Burrard Farnall, Poor Law Inspector, to the Poor Law Board, reporting his inspection of the Mansfield Poor Law Union Workhouse on 20 October 1868; includes details of medical provision, management of the school, the vagrant wards. The women's receiving ward and venereal wards are unfit for purpose, and this has been pointed out to the guardians.

The report for [October 1868] of Edmund Henry Wodehouse, Her Majesty's Inspector of Workhouse Schools, is attached. He considers that the desks should be arranged in parallel lines, not placed around the walls. The boys are employed in the garden, which keeps them apart from adult paupers.
