Folios 408-409. Workhouse Inspection Report from Robert Weale, Poor Law Inspector, to the Poor Law Board, reporting his inspection of the Mansfield Poor Law Union Workhouse on 2 June 1852; includes details of medical provision, management of the school, the vagrant wards. It reports that the schools are not well managed and a copy of the inspection report for the school dated 26 January 1848 by H G Bowyer is included. The workhouse has not regularly been inspected by the visiting committee. Since the appointment of [Mr James Nicholson and his wife], the new workhouse master and workhouse matron, the workhouse has improved and is in good order.

Annotated: write shortly with respect to the visiting [committee] referring to the letter dated 20 August 1847.
