Folios 461-462. A report from the Commissioners in Lunacy, to the Poor Law Board, following the visit by W Campbell, Visiting Commissioner in Lunacy, to the workhouse of the Basford Poor Law Union on 12 February 1868. The report form, critical of the conditions in which those deemed to have mental problems, includes details of diet, accommodation and treatment and the number of cases of insane and imbecile inmates which at present amounts to 19 men and 16 women, all unnamed. Annotated: a copy of this report should go to the guardians for their information and observations. Paper Number: 8146/1868. Poor Law Union Number: 334. Counties: Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. |
