Folio 272. Letter from R B Spencer [Richard Birch Spencer], Clerk to the Guardians of the Basford Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission, referring to their letter dated 10 November 1845 regarding the failure of the potato crop. The stock of potatoes held is nearly exhausted and the guardians require permission to change the diet to 3/4lb of plain pudding for the males and 8oz for the females in place of potatoes on meat days. Annotated: write back stating no objection. Paper Number: 10191/B/1846. Poor Law Union Number: 334. Counties: Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. |
