Folio 479. Letter from Thomas Day, Clerk to the Guardians of the Bromsgrove Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Board. They ask them to allow Charles Knight to supply books and maps for use in the workhouse school. In the last year the average attendance at the school was 9 boys and 9 girls. I Symons HMIS [Her Majesty's Inspector of Schools] recommends 12 copies of the second Irish reading books.
