Plaintiffs: Edmund Ratcliffe, John Williamson, Gawen Ewdall, Thomas Jeffraye, John Tyckhall, Robert Casse, George Ratcliffe, Anthony Williamson, William Bowe and Edward Rason, for themselves and a great number of others, the tenants and inhabitants of the manor of Crosthwaite (late of Fountains Abbey), Applethwaite and Ormathwaite, Cumberland, ancient towns near the border of Scotland, with the ancient and laudable tenure of tenant right.
