Captured ship: Zymen en Jan (Simon en Jan) of Amsterdam (master Aryan Cooy (Aryan Kooy, Arian Kooy, Arian Cooy, Adriaan Cooy, Adriaan Kooy)), formerly De Swarte Adelaer..

History: a Dutch ship (60 lasts, 4 men and a boy), bound from Riga to Nantes, laden with hemp; taken on 3/14 June 1745 off Dungeness by the privateer Fox (Richard Castle commanding), and brought into Dover.

  • [CP 8-CP 20]: attestations relating to the authenticity of the ship's papers, claims on behalf of Amdterdam merchants, translations of exhibits, brought into court 7-10 August 1745;
  • [CP 21-CP 22]: 2 allegations;
  • [CP 23-CP 25]: 2 attestations as to papers, and abstracts and translations of the 12 ship's papers (not including bills of lading).

Ship’s Papers numbered SP 1-SP 98, customs papers, letters, ships' passes, 'a boy's writing book with prayers in it', cargo manifest, bills of lading.
