Captured ship: La Nuestra Señora de Covadonga other La Nuestra Señora de Cabodonga of Manila (master Jeronimo Montero) [the Acapulco Galleon]. History: a Spanish galleon (32 guns, 286 men including 18 passengers), bound from Acapulco to Manila, laden with silver; taken in fight on 19/30 June 1743 off Cape Espiritu Santo by HMS Centurion (George Anson commanding), brought into Canton and there sold (condemned at sea under a special commission issued to Commodore Anson's expedition).
