Description:

Captured ship: Marie Catherine of Dieppe (master Nicolas Cauchois), formerly Leviathan of Bideford.

History: a French merchant ship (30 tons, 4 men), bound from Granville to Dunkirk, laden with currants and figs; taken on 6/17 November 1747 near Portbail by the privateer King George cutter (John Le Gros commanding), and brought into Jersey.
