Folio(s) 366-367. Workhouse inspection Report Form from Mr Robert Weale, Poor Law Inspector, to the Poor Law Board, reporting his inspection of the Mansfield Poor Law Union Workhouse, on 20 August 1856; includes details of medical provision, management of the school, the vagrant wards etc.Weale reports that since his last visit on 4 February 1856, there have only been two visits recorded by the visiting committee since the last inspection in February and the Mansfield union has always been irregularly visited even though much correspondence has taken place on the subject. Weale asks the Board to write to the union again and tell them that if he has to report negligence on the part of the visiting committee on his next visit, the Poor Law Board will appoint a visitor whose salary is to be paid for by the guardians.
