The GTP prefix denotes the registry theme 'General Taxation Policy'. The prefix was the successor to the short-lived CCTP (Central Coordination of Tax and other Policy) prefix created in 1986 and closed in 1988. Earlier, CCTP prefix had been the successor to BCPT (Budget Co-ordination and Personal Direct Taxation) prefix which was operational from 1981 to 1987. The GTP prefix was created by the Fiscal Policy Division under the Fiscal Policy Group and there-under the Public Finance Sector. The GTP prefix was to eventually be succeeded by the GTPA prefix in 1993 which also denoted 'General Taxation Policy'. It is unclear what the 'A' in GTPA was meant to denote. |
