Description:

Folios 560-561.

To: Home Secretary.

From: Terry and Robinson, Bradford, [Yorkshire].

A letter respecting the remission of surcharges made against the Idle Local Board, Terry and Robinson having represented the opposition to this remission, which the Home Secretary has now ordered. They complain that they have not been given a proper hearing in this case and also, the Home Secretary already having previously made an order confirming the surcharges, he had no legal right to rescind it. Terry and Robinson request to see the latest appeal for the remission, so that they might possibly reply to it.
