Description: |
Folios 519-520. To: Home Secretary. From: Terry and Robinson, Bradford, [Yorkshire]. A letter acknowledging the Home Secretary's letter regarding the remission of surcharges against the accounts of the Idle Local Board, and a set of questions regarding this matter. Terry and Robinson say they will pass this to their clients to determine whether to oppose this remission in person or in writing. They state that they and their clients were surprised at this sudden overturning of the decision to confirm the surcharges, made after a full inquiry, without them being notified or given the opportunity to oppose the appeal of the Idle Local Board. The questions they forward were ones that were to be sent to their 'friends in Parliament' to ask the Home Secretary on the matter. |
