From: Henry Thornton, Park Lodge, Idle, [Yorkshire]; and other Idle ratepayers and owners.

A petition requesting that the Home Secretary will not grant the Idle Local Board's appeal against surcharges made on their accounts by their auditor to disallowed payments to engineers, in order 'to teach the Board to be careful of our money in future'. The petitioners also complain that payments of bills from the Board's lawyers, Butler and Smith, totalling more than £50, were not disallowed.
