Folios 317-318. To: Home Secretary. From: Robert Sutcliffe, Idle, [Yorkshire]. A letter acknowledging receipt of a copy of a petition sent to the Home Secretary by the Idle Local Board praying for the remit of surcharges made on their accounts by their auditor. Sutcliffe says such petition is easy to reply to and rebut, but wishes to wait until he has been informed of the Idle Board's comments on the petition sent by him and other against the remittance before he comments. |
