Julius Max Richard IRMING-GEISSLER. A German journalist who arrived here as a refugee from Nazism in 1934, GEISSLER appointed himself in 1939 Commissar of the German Freedom Front in Britain, which was suspected of being communist inspired. He was interned shortly after the outbreak of war, released in 1945 and deported in 1948
