Description:

Adolphe GRUBER: Czech, British / Malvina GRUBER, aliases HOFSTADTEROVA, HOFSTADJOREN: Russian, Czech. Recruited in 1939 by Leopold TREPPER into the Rote Kapelle spy ring when her lover Abraham RAJCHMANN was recruited as a forger, Malvina GRUBER was used as a cut-out between the two men. In 1942 she was denounced to the Germans by RAJCHMANN and working as a double agent gave away the network to them. Her husband Adolphe had been a businessman in Czechoslovakia but fled to Britain as a Jewish refugee in 1939 via Belgium. Malvina GRUBER was interrogated after the war and imprisoned in Belgium
