Folio(s) 241-242. Workhouse Inspection Report Form from H B Farnall [Harry Burrard Farnall], Poor Law Inspector, to the Poor Law Board, reporting his inspection of the Basford Poor Law Union Workhouse on 16 October 1849; includes details of medical provision, management of the school, the vagrant wards etc.In his notes, Farnall states that the out relief of the union has [decreased] within the last six months upwards of £1200 compared with a similar period a year ago. However, now that the trade of the area is good, he does not think the decrease named is sufficient. He has gone through the expenditure with the guardians and is optimistic that the out relief lists will be very much revised forthwith. Paper Number: 29766/1849. Poor Law Union Number 334.
