Title: | Treasury Solicitor and HM Procurator General: Treasury Registers and Treasury and Miscellaneous Registers |
Description: |
Registers containing summary details of cases referred to the Treasury Solicitor and HM Procurator General for report, and a note of their disposal. Until 1917 they are described as 'Treasury Registers', thereafter, as 'Treasury and Miscellaneous Registers'. However, many of the 'Treasury Registers' contain entries concerning matters referred for report, etc, from various other departments, with the principal exception of the Admiralty, Home Office (until 1917), War Office and Office of Works, for which separate registers exist in other series of records. The registers may be used to provide information about the possible existence of related papers among the records of the Treasury and other departments. After 1925 registration was discontinued and replaced by a system of file dockets, which were kept in loose-leaf form. |
