  • Australia

  • India

The Paris Conference on Reparation met from 9 November to 21 December 1945 and the Inter-Allied Reparation Agency was set up in accordance with a recommendation of the Conference that the governments represented at the Conference should sign an agreement on reparation from Germany, and on the restitution of monetary gold. The terms were set out in the Final Act of the Paris Conference on Reparation (Cmnd 6721, 1946). The agreement was signed and the Agency was set up in Brussels in 1946. A Tripartite Commission for the Restitution of Monetary Gold was established by the governments of the USA, UK and France (see Part III, paragraph F of the final Act of the Paris Conference).

A UK delegation to the Agency was set up in Brussels. Sir Ronald Wingate was appointed as UK delegate in 1947; after his resignation in October 1958 his responsibilities were assumed by the Commercial Counsellor of the British Embassy in Brussels.

The Agency issued its final report issued in September 1961.
