The Overseas Negotiation Committee (ONC) Division was set up in 1947 to serve the Overseas Negotiation Committee. The functions of the committee were to advise on the general principles of trade and financial negotiations with overseas countries and to supervise such negotiations with particular countries. In 1956 a new division, the Home and Overseas Planning Staff (HOPS) Division, took over this work. It was dissolved in 1958 when the ONC became the responsibility of the Overseas Co-ordination (OC) Division. |
