British New York Vice-Admiralty Court.

Captured ship: Unity (and Betsey in company) (unknown masters).

History: two American merchant ships (both brigantines, 120 tons); both taken on 21 January 1783 south of the Capes of Virginia by HMS Monitor (Richard Tilledge commanding), HMS Assurance (William Swiney commanding), HMS Hussar (Thomas Macnamara Russell commanding), HMS Cerberus (Sir Jacob Wheate commanding), and HMSHound (Edward Nagle commanding), and brought into New York.
