High Court of Admiralty. Captured ship: Reyzen Jacob (master Friedrich Matthias Thiel). History: a Swedish merchant ship (dogger, 76 Swedish lasts, 2 carriage guns, 9 men), bound from Wismar, Swedish Pomerania to Cadiz, laden with wheat and a small parcel of barley; taken on 18th June 1780 about 22 miles eastward of Cape Finisterre by HMS Romney (Rodham Horne commanding) and the privateer Enterprize (Thomas Eden commanding) and brought into Lisbon. Court papers: 1-31; Ship's papers: 32-35. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued]. |
