High Court of Admiralty.

Captured ship: Le Duc de Toscan otherwise La Bria (master Dupuis Le Faye).

History: a French hospital ship (29 guns, 104 men including 3 doctors and 2 priests, 11 soldiers), bound from Mauritius, laden with wine, brandy, sugar, arrack, molasses; taken on 17 February 1782 in the road of Negapatam on the coast of Coromandel, East Indies by the East India Company privateer Chapman (Thomas Walker commanding), and brought into Bengal.
