High Court of Admiralty.

Captured ship: Dolphin (master Israel Turner).

History: an American merchant ship (brigantine, 120 tons, 7 men, 10 passengers, formerly the British King George, taken in late 1777), bound from Boston to Bilbao, laden with tobacco, pitch, tar, staves, whalebone, rice, flax seed; taken on 14 February 1778 south of Cape Finisterre by the privateer Peace and Plenty (Charles Mackenzie commanding), accompanied by the vessel Fanny (John Spear commanding), and brought into Lisbon.

Court papers: 1-6; Ship's papers: 7-21. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
