The Accounts Division was created in 1982 as part of the HM Treasury re-organisation. It took over some of the functions of the Civil Service Department after it was abolished late in that year. It was responsible for the following functions: Consolidated Fund; National Loans Fund; government central accounts; civil list; judicial salaries and pensions; Election expenses; and European Assembly election expenses. |
