Crime: Stealing apparel. Prosecutrix Mary Cookesley.

Petitioner(s): George Crewe, the prisoner, undersigned by the prosecutrix Mary Cookesley and 33 tradesmen, including a character reference from George Gunn, silk manufacturer, who shared premises with Crewe. George Gunn of [Aldermanbury] London.

Grounds for clemency: The prisoner is of former good character, from a respectable family with good connections, but orphaned when young; he is distressed at being unemployed and this is his first offence.
