Description:

Folios 114-115: Alexander Forrester Inglis Cochrane, HMS Hind off Dungeness. He has ordered Lieutenant John Smith of HMS Nimble to the nearest port with the prisoners from the French privateer as he does not have enough water on board. He requests 25 tons of iron ballast rather than shingle to replace the troops convoyed on the north coast. He has found that his ship will not carry sail and fight her lee guns without the additional iron ballast. One of the prisoners has said that a number of privateers are being fitted at Le Havre and he will try to intercept them.
