Administrative / biographical background:

The East Midlands Management Board for the 2012 Games was responsible for strategically directing the region's activities towards the games. The group was made up of representatives from the East Midlands Developmeny Agency (EMDA), Sport England, Government Office East Midlands, East Midlands Tourism, Arts Council England, Loughborough University, Learning and Skills Council, Deloitte and a representative for the local authorities. Funding for the post of East Midlands Regional Co-ordinator for the 2012 Games was originally provided by EMDA and Sport England, and EMDA also initially managed the 'Championing the East Midlands' website.
