Incorporated under act of 16th July 1846.

Company was empowered under Section 50 of act to lease undertaking to South Eastern Railway Company though no powers were directly given to South Eastern Railway Company to accept lease under this Act, but South Eastern Railway Company accepted lease under powers of previous South Eastern Railway Act, 7 and 8 Vic, cap.69, which gave authority for acceptance of lease of any branch railways or any railway communicating with South Eastern Railway Company. Lease was executed by both companies on 15th March 1850.

As from 17th June 1852, entire acquisition of Reading Guildford and Reigate Railway Company was authorised under South Eastern Railway Act of 17th June 1852, by which Act, Reading, Guildford and Reigate Railway Company was dissolved.

South Eastern Railway Company became part of Southern Railway Company as from 1st January 1923 under Railways (Southern Group) Amalgamation Scheme 1922 dated 22nd December 1922.
