Incorporated under their act of 26th June 1846. On completion of line, company was to be leased to London and Birmingham Railway Company in perpetuity and powers of act were to be exercised by London and Birmingham Railway Company.

By Section 39 of act, company was empowered to sell railway to London and Birmingham Railway Company, and under Buckinghamshire Railway Act of 22nd July 1847, Oxford and Bletchley Junction Railway Company and Buckingham and Brackley Junction Railway Company were dissolved and re-incorporated by name, Buckinghamshire Railway Company. Buckinghamshire Railway Company was dissolved and vested in London and North Western Railway Company by London and North Western Railway (Additional Powers) Act 21st July 1879. London and North Western Railway Company was vested in London Midland and Scottish Railway Company under North Western, Midland and West Scottish Group Amalgamation Scheme 1922 dated 30th December 1922.
