Administrative / biographical background:

Incorporated by London & Birmingham Railway Act, 6 May 1833, a further Act authorising extension from Camden to Euston Grove was obtained 3 July 1835.

The company was empowered to enlarge its stations at Euston by an act of 16 July 1846 and by an act of the same date this company, the Grand Junction, and the Manchester & Birmingham railway companies were consolidated to form the London & North Western Railway Company, which company became vested in the London Midland & Scottish Railway Company as from 1 January 1923 under the North Western, Midland and West Scottish Group Amalgamation Scheme 1922 dated 30 December 1922.
