Incorporated under act of 20th August 1853. Under Section 32 of London & North Western Railway (Additional Powers) Act 28th July 1863, power was given for transference of the company to London & North Western Railway Company, and under London & North Western Railway (New Works & Additional Powers) Act 15th July 1867, Hampstead Junction Railway Company was dissolved, except for purpose of winding up its affairs, and its powers were vested in London & North Western Railway Company.

London & North Western Railway Company was vested in London Midland & Scottish Railway Company under North Western, Midland & West Scottish Group Amalgamation Scheme 1922 dated 30th December 1922.
