The Birmingham, Wolverhampton & Stour Valley Railway Company was incorporated under the Birmingham, Wolverhampton & Stour Valley Railway Act; Birmingham, Wolverhampton & Dudley Lines, of 3rd August 1846. The act provided for the appointment of a number of directors of this company by the London & Birmingham Railway Company, the Birmingham Canal Company and (if incorporated that session) the Shrewsbury & Birmingham Railway Company. In 1867, by section 77 of London & North Western Railway (New Works & Additional Powers) Act, power was given to the London & North Western Railway Company to issue shareholders of Birmingham, Wolverhampton & Stour Valley Railway Company with shares and stock of the London & North Western Railway Company. By Section 79 of the same act, the Birmingham, Wolverhampton & Stour Valley Railway Company was dissolved. The company was vested absolutely in the London & North Western Railway Company. |
