The Alcester Railway Company was incorporated under Alcester Railway Act on 6th August 1872. The company was vested in the Great Western and Stratford on Avon railway companies by Great Western Railway Company's Act of 22nd July 1878. Under the Great Western Railway Act 20th August 1883, Stratford on Avon and Great Western railway companies were amalgamated, as from 1st July, 1883.
