Chequers is a Tudor mansion in the Chilterns, about three miles from Princes Risborough, Bucks.

In 1909 the property was taken over and restored by Lord Lee of Fareham (the Right Honourable Sir Arthur Hamilton Lee) (1868-1947) and Lady Lee (Dame Ruth Moore Lee), and in 1917 they presented Chequers, together with a maintenance endowment, to serve from 1 January 1921, as a country residence for the Prime Minister of the day. The gift was approved by Parliament in the Chequers Estate Act 1917 (7 & 8 Geo V, c 55), passed on 20 December 1917. In 1921, the Chequers estate of about 1500 acres (600 ha) was added to the gift by Lord Lee.
