Parkside colliery, Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside: construction. Photograph depicting: Fatal Accident - Parkside Colliery. 5.45pm Wednesday December 4th 1957 Edward Kuraj, 33 years of age, sinker of 6 Broomfield Lane, Barnton, Northwich. An employee of Messrs Kinnear and Moodie was working at the bottom of No. 2 shaft when he was struck partly buried by stones and dirt which fell out a hoppit being raised. The men and the casualty were raised in the undamaged hoppit.
