The Design and Technology Association was established in 1989 (initially known as DATA) and is an educational charity based in Wellesbourne, Warwickshire, which works towards excellence in design and technology education. It is now the recognised professional body and subject association for all those involved in the school subject of design and technology (D&T). The Association aims to provide support, advice and leadership to all those involved in D&T education and the wider design and technology subject community, and manages a considerable number of projects, including those funded by the Department for Education (formally known as the Department of Children, Schools and Families - DCSF) and the Training and Development Agency (TDA).
