Questions of classification and insurability were settled by the insurance officer at the local office, by headquarters officers at the Ministry of National Insurance and its successors or by appeal tribunals. Where satisfaction might not be obtained, cases could be referred to the minister. Ultimately, but only on a point of law, a case could be taken to the High Court in England and Wales, to the Court of Session in Scotland and to the Supreme Court in Northern Ireland. |
