Egerton Herbert NORMAN: Canadian. A Communist, NORMAN, then acting permanent head of the Canadian delegation to the United Nations, was alleged in August 1951 by the Un-American Activities Committee of the United States Congress to have been a member of a Communist Party student group during the 1930s. NORMAN subsequently committed suicide, in 1957 while Canadian Ambassador in Egypt. The file includes information concerning NORMAN's alleged association with an Indian student communist group when he was a student at Trinity College Cambridge, 1933-1935
