Title: | Bovine TB: Badger dataset |
Description: |
This dataset comprises 27 annual tables from 1972 to 1998 containing data about badgers, and their post-mortem results, from areas around farms where outbreaks of Bovine TB had been discovered.
The Badger database comes from the Polwhele Veterinary Investigation Centre in Cornwall, which collected data from Cornwall and Devon, and occasionally other counties including Dorset, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Avon and Wiltshire. No data is available after 1998 when the recommendations of the Krebs Report were implemented, and experimental badger culling trials had begun. Devon data is not available after 1997. The tables hold information about the age, sex, location, and epidemiology of individual badgers which had been found dead, captured specifically for testing, or other reasons, including those killed under licence. |
